What can I expect from the design build process?
The process begins with a meeting to help us understand your needs, desires and problems relating to your landscape. The landscape architect will then develop a conceptual plan and sketches to communicate his or her ideas for implementing your vision. After revisions and a survey, a detailed landscape drawing will be presented to you.
With your approval a final plan, including planting, grading, irrigation, lighting and construction specifications will be presented as a color rendering. Along with the plan you will receive a detailed cost proposal. With your signature these documents become a contract and the project goes to installation.
A project manager will be assigned your project. Materials will be ordered, subcontractors, if any, will be scheduled. A field supervisor will be assigned your project and installation will be scheduled. You will be kept informed of relevant dates. Timing of this process is determined by many factors including time of year and number of current projects.
What is the best time of year for landscaping?
December through March is the best time to complete the design stages of the process. This allows installation to be scheduled in April through November when quality of stonework and success of plantings is most likely. However our firm is large enough to be flexible and we will make every effort to meet your special timing needs.
While we do everything in our power keep to our schedules, there is one element we cannot control. Extreme weather may have an impact on the timing of installation of your landscape.
