Rain Garden
This past fall, the London Grove Township (LGT) Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) held a stormwater seminar and, with the help of volunteers, installed a rain garden at the Township building. John Phelps, EAC member, facilitated the stormwater seminar
that included topics, such as:
- proper stormwater facility management and maintenance
- stormwater management strategies for Homeowners' Associations
- awareness of water quality & pollution diet (Total Max. Daily Load[TMDL])
- Brandywine Valley Association
- London Grove's TMDL projects
Wallace Associates designed and facilitated the installation of the LGT rain garden. After much delay, due to excessive rainfall this summer, the installation of the LGT rain garden was completed. This garden will temporarily hold rainwater from the roof and slowly allow the water to be infiltrated into the ground. The garden was planted by volunteers from our community and EAC members. We look forward to many years of growth and change in our garden and welcome visitors from our community to come see the garden. Thanks to the volunteers who were able to help with the planting, as well as, the residents who attended our educational seminar.
